LGSF (Light Gauge Steel Frame) is a modern construction technology utilizing light gauge galvanized steel profiles. Build faster, more precisely, and sustainably.
LGSF (Light Gauge Steel Frame) is a structural system using light gauge galvanized steel profiles with thicknesses of 0.75–2.5 mm. The profiles are CNC cut with ±1 mm accuracy and assembled into prefabricated panels — wall, roof, and floor — which form the building’s load-bearing structure.
Unlike traditional masonry, it is so-called dry construction methods — without wet processes, without waiting for drying. This significantly shortens construction time and eliminates moisture-related issues.
The technology is widespread worldwide — from Australia through Europe to North America. In the EU it is regulated by ETAG 018 standards and ETA and CE Mark certifications.
LGSF technology offers a range of advantages over traditional construction methods. From speed and precision to sustainability.
Dry construction methods are up to 3× faster than traditional masonry. Prefabricated panels are ready for on-site assembly — no wet processes, no drying time.
CNC-cut profiles ensure consistent dimensional accuracy. Minimal on-site adjustments, perfect element connections, maximum structural cleanliness.
Certified wall assemblies achieve fire resistance REI 60 (60 minutes). The combination of steel profiles, plasterboard, and mineral wool insulation also meets requirements for residential buildings.
Wall assemblies achieve thermal transmittance coefficient U = 0.15 W/m²K and better — meeting requirements even for passive houses. Mineral wool Isover + external insulation.
Airborne sound insulation of wall assemblies reaches Rw 55–65 dB. The mass-spring-mass principle provides excellent soundproofing even for residential buildings.
Steel is fully recyclable without quality loss. Construction waste only 2% compared to 20% in timber buildings. Minimal environmental impact.
High load-bearing capacity at low weight. Resistant to termites, mold, rot, and corrosion due to galvanization. No shrinkage, twisting, or swelling.
Large spans without columns, complex shapes, open layouts. Architects have freedom in design without the limitations of traditional materials.
Faster construction = lower overhead costs. Smaller foundations due to low weight. Less waste, less transport. Overall costs comparable or lower than masonry.
Clear comparison of key parameters of the three most common construction technologies in Europe.
The entire production process is digitally controlled — from design in CAD/BIM software through CNC manufacturing to quality inspection of each piece.
Our automated production line processes steel coils into finished profiles with ±1 mm accuracy. Each profile is CNC cut precisely according to production documentation — no manual intervention, no deviations.
Holes for electrical installations and conduits are pre-prepared directly in production. Profiles are numbered and packed in assembly order — the construction company simply assembles on site according to the plan.
Result: minimal waste (2%), maximum assembly speed, zero deviations.
LGSF technology is versatile — suitable for individual projects and serial construction, from tiny homes to six-storey residential buildings.
Individual projects and standard house types. Fast construction, low-energy standard, modern design.
Up to 6 storeys with LGSF. Ideal for developer projects requiring speed and quality.
Schools, kindergartens, offices, healthcare facilities. Compliance with strict fire safety and acoustic standards.
Office and social insertions into industrial halls. Light construction without loading the hall’s supporting structure.
Serial construction with repetitive modules. Maximum production and assembly efficiency.
Compact living units, mobile homes, modular buildings. Precise factory prefabrication.
The European LGSF market reached USD 6.2 billion in 2023 and is growing at 3.4% annually. The technology is widely established in the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, and increasingly in Central Europe.
The EU regulatory framework supports sustainable construction methods — LGSF with 100% steel recyclability and minimal waste perfectly aligns with the direction of European construction.
Skymax Living is one of the pioneers of LGSF technology in the Czech Republic and Central Europe. Our systems are certified according to European standards and supplied throughout the EU.
